The Singing School Warwick
Sarah Hay provides an all round education for singers from beginner to professional, offers individual one to one vocal tuition in half-hour or one hour sessions, preparation for graded examinations and for auditions.
Principal Sarah Hay has a wealth of experience both as a performer and as a Performing Arts teacher.
She is particularly interested in encouraging new singers and covers the main areas related to healthy singing, exploring your voice and developing confidence with performance workshops. It is also ideal for the more experienced singer who wants to re-visit and develop technical expertise.
Whether you are a complete beginner or have had a little experience along the way, singing lessons will help you discover your voice and realise your potential. Students say Teaching is easy to follow and structured to the individuals pace.
I have been able to explore my voice in a structured but informal way – and discover some great music as well. Ross
Being able to sing and get advice from a professional has boosted my confidence. I am doing something solely for myself and it feels great! Karen
I always look forward to my singing lessons with Sarah. Zoe
All ages and abilities welcome with many opportunities for workshops and public performance experience.
The Singing School is run by Sarah Hay, an experienced teacher and performer, and was originally The Sarabande Singing School based in Watford. In 2012, Sarah and partner, Mike, bought Leasowes Farmhouse in Warwick and set about renovating the house and converting the barns into studios for teaching, rehearsal and recording. Set in open countryside on the edge of the town, the facilities are being developed to provide a variety of musical and artistic opportunities.
‘I’ve been lucky enough to have a varied and successful career as a performer with extensive West End and touring credits including ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘Les Miserables’, ‘Scrooge’ and the National Theatre. Concert appearances include Pizza on the Park, Beaux Arts Centre, Brussels and the Vlaamse Musicalprizen in Aalst.
I studied singing with Julie Gray (BA(Hons) ARCM PGCE) and became an associate teacher with The Singing School Bushey before forming Sarabande Singing School in 2008. I have Grade 8 ABRSM and am currently working towards DipABRSM.
I am a qualified Drama teacher (bEd) and workshop leader taking many students successfully through GCSE/A Level Drama studies and singing exams with ABRSM and GSA. Prior to moving to Warwick in 2012, I was principal of Sarabande Singing School in Watford for four years.’ Sarah
