Ali Garrison – teaching bio: (BMA, U of Michigan, ACTRA, Gemini Nominee) is an American-born, Toronto-raised mezzo-soprano, voice teacher, and proud founding alumnus with the renowned Nathaniel Dett Chorale.
Ms. Garrison is a frequent concert soloist and has taught voice internationally, in Canada, the U.S. and Guatemala. She especially enjoys working in tandem with a great diversity of artists, improvisers and composers to foster new works and promote music for a more harmonious and inclusive world. She has had numerous works composed specifically for her voice.
Ms. Garrison has owned a successful private voice studio in Toronto for almost two decades.
Ali teaching philosophy: Your sound and your body are inseparable. As singers, we study in order to deepen our relationship with our instrument, learning to connect with our voices as intimately and holistically as we do with our best friends.
