School of Contemporary Voice
Would you like singing lessons but don’t fancy learning in a large group? Do you have specific vocal issues that you’d like to target? Are you working towards an exam, gig or recording session? Polly Strange runs a busy private teaching practice in central Swindon and welcomes students from age 8 upwards of any ability (younger students occasionally considered depending on their voice, concentration ability, or if it is audition prep). She currently teaches a real mix of complete beginners to seasoned pros spanning from primary aged children to grandparents.
Polly teaches rock, pop, folk, musical theatre, jazz and classical singing and puts those students who wish to through ABRSM Classical, LCM & LAMDA Musical Theatre, and Rockschool pop vocal exams. She has successfully helped many students through all the grades and a number of her students have gone on to music colleges, musical theatre schools, to front bands and appear on the West End.
Polly spent 7 years as Head of Singing & Musical Director of the Performing Arts course at Cirencester College so has extensive experience prepping students for theatre & drama school auditions.
Polly specialises in vocal “problem solving” using her extensive training & knowledge of vocal physiology. She can help you work out why you haven’t been able to hit that note, why your voice is hurting, or why you just aren’t getting that sound you’re after.
You can also learn about ear training, sight singing, music theory, microphone technique, harmonising skills, ad lib/improvisation and basic piano skills if required.
Polly Strange is a singing teacher and singing teacher best known for her work as a trance/EDM session vocalist & top-line writer.
Polly has recently left her post as Head of Singing & Musical Director at Cirencester College after 7 years to join the staff at Wilkes academy teaching their 16+ professional training course, alongside her thriving Private Tuition in Swindon.
