I am Rosaleen and I teach singing, pop music composition and piano to all ages and abilities and I am based in the Glasgow area. I focus on music and creativity for confidence and exploration. You do not need to fit into any criteria to take music lessons and they are a great way to develop your sense of self and connection to the world.
You might be seeking to learn a new skill, or just want to sing and play for fun, either way drop me a line to get you started on your journey!
Each lesson lasts one hour with half hour slots available upon request. Lessons take place in my home in Finnieston, Glasgow, G3 and I can also travel to your home if this is more convenient. Please contact me via the send message form for more information and for any questions you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you!
A little about me…
With over five years of one to one teaching experience along with an Honours degree from The Ian Tomlin School of Music, I deliver professional, top quality lessons at competitive rates.
I began my music studies at North Glasgow College, Scotland in 2004 (specialising in Keyboards) at the tender age of 16. Here I studied under Ross Campbell (composer), Keith Burns (The Proclaimers), Ted McKenna (Sensational Alex Harvey Band) and Campbell Owens (Aztec Camera). I knew I wanted to be a musician from an early age so once I passed my three-year HND course (winning the main year award for the first and third year) I progressed straight into year three at Napier University, Scotland, where I obtained a BA with Honours in Popular Music.
It was during this time at University that I began teaching, most notably as course co-ordinator for the Music Monkeys After School Club, and gigging more intensively which saw me spend the next year and a half in Edinburgh working as a full time musician and tutor.
I relocated to London in the September of 2010 where I was a resident piano player and singer in many high-end London establishments including Rubens by the Palace, Victoria; The Melia White House Hotel, Marlybone; Montague on the Gardens, Russell Square; The Criterion Restaurant, Piccadilly; The Millennium Gloucester, South Kensington and The Novotel, Hammersmith. During my time in London I also played music in the House of Lords and for the Scottish National Party.
I am grateful and lucky that my music and teaching has taken me far and wide and given me the opportunity to perform regularly around the UK and internationally.
I am now teaching from my home in Glasgow’s West End whilst working on my solo music project: Rosie Bans. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you wish to inquire about lessons!
