Rachel is a judge on Sky One Television’s National Television Award nominated series, Sing: Ultimate A Cappella. She is also an award-winning songwriter, singing teacher, performer and international vocal judge. She holds a Masters in Songwriting, a Bachelors Degree in music with honours, a Licenciate in Musical Theatre Performance and a Diploma in Vocal Teaching.
During her career, Rachel has performed with the award-winning female vocal ensemble Voices SA, and the ensembles Con Spirito and Lyrica. Rachel has also performed in a coloratura masterclass with Cardiff Singer of the Worlds Ingrid Surgenor, toured Prague as the soprano soloist in Tippets A Child of Our Time and performed on live radio, by listener request. Rachel has performed in the concert halls of Austria, premiering a new composition and an arrangement of a Warlock piece, by the Royal Operas Julian Baker.
Rachel teaches all genres of music, from pop and rock through to r&b, jazz, musical theatre, opera, art songs and oratorio to pupils from age 10 upwards using Estill based methods which specialises in support, the application of specific vocal qualities and in boosting a performers confidence through better vocal production. Rachel has put more than 230 students through singing exams from grades one to eight with a 100% pass rate. Rachel teaches both from her own studio and from educational establishments.
Rachel’s students have also competed in festivals and competitions, often coming first in their class and winning awards.
Rachel has also coached students preparing for roles on stage, and has prepared a number of singers for their drama school auditions. Some of Rachel’s students are now studying performance at the top drama schools in the country.
