 Childrens Classes and Groups

Childrens classes and groups

Play Music Makers offers a wide range of fun, creative, structured and appropriately devised music classes for babies, toddlers and children, as well as instrumental/vocal music lessons for all ages. Based on the Kodaly, Orff & Dalcroze methods, the aim of PLAY is to nurture musicians.

Our teachers focus on the holistic development of each student as an individual musician. The methods used are helping our students to become musically literate and to develop reading, listening and creative skills, rare endeavours in today’s music education. We instil practicing habits gradually and constructively, while continuously nurturing pupils’ innate impulse to express themselves.

Our music classes are available in East Sheen, Teddington, Richmond and Kingston.

Director Myrto Loulaki was born in Athens. She was involved in musical activities at an early stage with Orff system. At the age of 12 she began the flute studies while continuing the recorder. At the same age she became a member of the Greek Radio Childrens choir. In 1997 she was chosen to sing Ave Maria (Bach-Gounod) with the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra at their Christmas Concert at Pallas concert Hall. In 1999 continuing her flute, recorder and theory studies she started the piano. She took part at the International Kodaly seminars in Hungarys Kecskemet in 1999 and in 2001.

She has sung and played as a soloist in numerous concerts and she has won prizes in competitions. Among her major experiences are Dido and Aeneas, Purcell (as Dido, with the Roehampton Chamber Singers at Hampton Court) and Amahl and the Night Visitors, Menotti (as Amahls mother, with the RCS at Barnes Methodist Church). Myrto holds a Harmony Degree (from the Greek Kodaly Conservatory and Institute), BMus in Performance (from Kingston University) and MA in Choral Education (from Roehampton Universtiy). Apart from all that, Myrto loves exploring and decomposing the meaning of musical performance!..The theatricality and poetry of it are among her main aims…
