I am a Lecturer in Singing and Performance at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. I am also a visiting lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and Westminster College of Education. I have also taught singing at other Oxford colleges and other universities, the WEA and at Billy Elliot the Musical. Students have gone on to the Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music, The Royal Welsh College, Central School of Speech and Drama and other music colleges and musical theatre/acting schools. Six of my students performed in a private audience with the Queen.
I have trained both as a singer and as a professional singing coach with top pedagogues in the UK, Switzerland, France and Spain. A member of many organisations related to voice, literature, language and culture, I am at the forefront of new developments in vocal teaching across the board and am a highly qualified Adult Educator. I also specialise in vocal rehabilitation and vocal training, teaching a wide range of individuals.
I give singing lessons privately at my studio in Oxford, coaching both individuals and groups. I tutor singing at all levels, including committed young singers, undergraduate, postgraduate and professional performers. My students receive top professional vocal technique and performance coaching and many make their way to the top of their chosen profession. I offer a fast-track training programme for committed singers and those wishing to rectify problems in their technique related to muscle tension, incorrect muscle use or vocal rehabilitation. I also prepare students vocally for entry to music college and I train teachers of singing and choral directors in vocal technique.
Previous students have gained entrance to top music colleges and conservatoires, won international awards, scholarships and Olivier awards. Many have had contracts in television and film as well as achieving careers in solo singing and choral directing.
