Jayne Wilson

 Private Teachers

Jayne Wilson is a well established vocal tutor based in Bowdon, Cheshire in the North West of England, specializing in advanced classical vocal technique. She is passionate about creating great voices and her teaching methods reflect 19th Century traditions and techniques. The ideal voice is dark/bright in quality, registers carefully blended producing an even tone throughout a range of over two octaves, able to trill and be flexible regardless of the size of the instrument, good clear resonant diction, the facility for mezza di voce (crescendo and diminuendo – swelling of the tone colour of the voice) and a fine legato, all help to produce a beautiful voice, ringing and powerful in quality.

Most problems/faults are muscular based, and vocal improvement comes from the correct training of the muscles, which in time, will remove these faults.
Jayne also believes the secret to contemporary vocal techniques lies in having a strong background in classical vocal training rather than Gimmicks or magic formula teachers who can teach you in 2 weeks!

All singing students should study with a teacher with a classical background who has studied at a music conservatoire (not a theatre school) and that understands vocal anatomy and vocal traditions spanning 400 years – and not the I teach the so-and-so method.

Remember the teacher is the guide and the student does the hard work!
