As a lecturer in voice and singing at music colleges and universities and as a private voice teacher, Ms. Meloy practices a holistic technique, treating every student as an individual and emphasizing healthy use and care for the vocal instrument. She promotes the belief that singing is an innate ability, and an essential part of physical and mental health. In addition to training aspiring professional singers, Ms. Meloy runs singing workshops for older people, community groups, and teaches one-to-one singing lessons with amateur singers in all genres.
Soprano Laure Meloy has been praised on both sides of the Atlantic for her interpretations of both standard and contemporary opera roles: she made her Royal Opera House, Covent Garden debut as Queen of Night, which she has also sung with English National Opera and Welsh National Opera, and in 2016 she made her Hungarian National Opera debut as Ariel in The Tempest. Her CD One Art was recently named a winner in the Hawai’i Public Radio International Art Song Contest.
