Influences
Many and varied !!! My inspirations would be God, and my late father (who introduced me to Cream) and grandfather (who taught me self-expression through music).
Musically speaking, I own around 3000 CDs of every imaginable genre. The first music I ever encountered was traditional Irish music which I would have been made to sing from my infancy at family gatherings, the soundtrack to ’Grease’and Abba. I’m a passionate jazz devotee, a singer of the blues and some-one who has a compartment in her soul especially for opera.
My favourite bands include Cream, the Divine Comedy, Muse, Radiohead and much much more. My favourite composers include Mendelsohn, Mahler, Verdi, Beethoven and Vaughan Williams. Oh, and Tchaikovsky. I love Ella Fitgerald, Peggy Lee, Chet Baker, Miles Davis and Nat King Cole. Listening to Etta James sing gospel is another of my life’s pleasures.
Some of my favourite albums include Kosheen’s ’Kokopelli’, Robert Randolph and the Family Band’s ’Live at the Wetlands’, Radiohead’s ’The Bends’ and at the moment Fiona Apple’s’Extraordinary Machine’.
Ofcourse, ask me on another day and I’ll give you completely different lists.
See where we came from.

Eve Williams is a singer and songwriter from County Down in Northern Ireland who has a soulful voice and a keen interest in jazz and blues. Her voice has been liked to artists as diverse as Claire Teal, Moira Brennan and Eva Cassidy.
Eve’s ‘ever graceful voice’ spans an impressive four octaves, and she is known for the maturity of her technically unusual songwriting. One reviewer commented that her tunes stay in the listener’s head for days (see www.fastfude.com). Eve received an Honourable Mention in the 14th and 15th Annual Billboard Magazine Songwriting Contest, and wrote one of the top 3 songs at the 2007 UK Songwriting Festival at Bath Spa University.
In the past Eve has been a classical singer, having trained with Bach soprano Irene Sandford, as well as being a member of a folk band and a jazz singer. At present she is mostly influenced by blues, jazz and the native music of her Celtic homeland. Sales of her self-titled EP, released to raise funds for the disability charity founded by her late father, have been encouraging, and she frequently performs in Belfast and beyond. She has also played at Northern Ireland’s popular Summer Madness Festival, and at venues in Israel, Toronto and Newfoundland.
