Kate Lawrence B.Music (Hons.) Birmingham University, M.A. Trinity College of Music is an experienced teacher of voice, having achieved the highest honours. Kate performs often as an alto soloist in opera and oratorio and is the alto soloist at St Mark’s in Regents Park. Kate is also a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique. |

Klara Kjellen B.A. and M.M.(Hons) vocal performance, has taught both in Sweden and here in London. Klara specializes in contemporary music and is also a composer and performer. She is with Dark Green label and performs with her band Happy Street. |

The Chorettes
Our close harmony The Chorettes rehearse throughout the year and sing in performances at the Hap'ning Place and other local events. The songs are mostly contemporary and Clare, the director, writes most of the arrangements! There is no audition for the group and if you would like more information, just let me know. |

Jazz Singers Master Class with Special Edition
Calling all Jazz Divas! We offer a Jazz master class with the professional band Special Edition.Here’s your chance in an exciting and unusual opportunity to obtain experience and train with these professional musicians.
You will be prepared to sing and coach a song with the band in the day-long class and in the evening, you will feature in a performance of jazz standards with the band at the Crouch End venue VivaViva!!! |

Mark Crayton and James Janssen Singers Master Class
Mark Crayton, visiting internationally renowned singer, and head of the voice department at Roosevelt University offers individual coaching in classes for our singers. The day long course allows you to perform and watch the other singers being coached. At the end of this highly charged, fun and exciting day, the singers all perform in a public recital. |

Summer Singing Workshop on the island of Chios, Greece
Imagine waking to the sound of humming birds humming, surf sifting through sand, pine trees whispering and knowing that you are going to spend the day on the paradise island that once was home to the author Homer (Iliad and Odyssey). Yes Chios the fourth largest island in the Aegean, beckons and The Hap’ning Place will offer singers the opportunity to participate in a one week seminar of singing on this stupendous island.
This course is outstanding - Chios is a gorgeous island, green and welcoming; we stayed close to the lively little town with great restaurants and a fine sandy beach. The pavilion where we sang is open on three sides to a panorama of hillsides and trees. Just before our concert, we saw two eagles hovering over the top of the mountain. The acoustics are great, and it is a wonderful space to let go and really "free the beauty of your voice" Thea B. |

The Hap'ning Place annual Christmas show is proud to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. The MadriGals, Chorettes, and The Hap'ning Place Choir all join together in this festive and fun show. The mulled cider and mince pies go down a treat too! |
