![]() The Da Capo Foundation The Da Capo Music Foundation runs a Saturday music school in NW2 , for children from 2 and a half to teenage (and for some mums and dads too!) The early years programme is a carefully structured introduction to the key elements of musicianship through lively sessions based on singing and movement. For children aged 5 and over, a wide range of instruments are taught - including strings, woodwind, guitar and piano. Children learning instruments take part in three separate sessions: an individual lesson, an instrumental group (to build ensemble skills) and a singing circle (which further develops childrens general skills of musicianship). Our work is Kodaly and Dalcroze based; and throughout, the emphasis is on providing a music education which stresses the excitement and enjoyment of making music in a sociable and unpressurised environment. As well as the Saturday Centre, we run a series of open concerts and workshops throughout the year. We also run holiday music courses. We have centres in various parts of the UK.
