What can I say? I have been to 2 of these now, and only a new baby will keep me away this year! The course is not intensive, but very instructive - and fun! It is lovely to be in a friendly group, singing together, sightseeing, or just lounging on the beach or in the hammock overlooking the sea (my favourite spot!) However, those who prefer time to themselves can also get that. Karfas is lively, but not too much, and Markos Place has a magic all of its own. Quite nostalgic now, never want to leave when I am there!

I just wanted to tell you that I had such a good time. I learned so much and even just a few days of working alone on the things we talked about has given me so much more flexibility and greater control of my voice.
You helped me so much; I want to study with you whenever I can. In fact, could you send me information about you school in London? It may be financially out of the question for me, but I'd like to look into it just the same.

This course is outstanding - Chios is a gorgeous island, green and welcoming; we stayted close to the lively little town with great restaurants and a fine sandy beach. The pavilion where we sang is open on three sides to a panorama of hillsides and trees. Just before our concert, we saw two eagles hovering over the top of the mountain. The acoustics are great, and it is a wonderful space to let go and really "free the beauty of your voice" as teacher Maryliese says.

A Fantastic Place to enjoy the beauty and exhilaration of expanding your lungs and resting in nature between exercises. The Pine Trees around provide amazing amounts of Oxygen, and if you wake up very early...you are likely to see magic at work! Not to mention the magic of meeting such a varied and empathetic group of Singing colleagues X

Use of the voice benefits so much from being relaxed and comfortable. Our Voice coach Mayliese not only gave us tremendous support during individual sessions and group work, she was very knowledgeable about the Island of Chios and such helpful advice was given (we were all given a pack at the start of the seminar). This was a fantastic workshop held in the most beautiful surroundings. The "cells" that we lived in at the monastery were basic but very clean and comfortable and to be honest well worth the beautiful view of the Aegean. The size of the crowd at the concert was a surprise. And their encouragement of the mangling of some of their favourite folk tunes was heroic. If you love to sing and want to learn from an amazing teacher Book Now!! Because Athens empties during August and it was hard to get flights to the Island. I was staggered to learn that I could get a song in Greek "down" in a week. I gained so much from being taught such useful vocal techniques (and how stand correctly) from such an accomplished Coach and singer. And my confidence (my biggest bete noire) in learning in a "free" space took a huge leap. Highly recommended.
