well i added a review syumtime last yearr and i thought it was time for an update. Nicola is such a talented sinder and all round performer and she has helped me develop my voice so much, when i first came to nicola singing high was completely out of my range but by training my voice and giving me excercises my head voice (high) has come along soo much , just the other day some told me how beautiful my head voice was and i was shocked. To tell you the truth i couldnt have done it without her, she has supported me so much and has never let me down !!!
soo iff your looking for a singing teacher there's only one to pick and thats Nicola , you wont be dissappointed !!!!!

my daughter meg had private singing lessons with nicola who is a very talented teacher and exceptionally good natured with my child she was taught very professionally and enjoyed her lessons we are very proud of our daughters singing ability and has come on leaps and bounds we would'nt hesitate to recommend nicola in the future.

Nicola has been coaching our daughter Lucy for the past 18 months. As well as Lucy's confidence growing, her voice is maturing beautifully.
Lucy has recorded 3 tracks with Nicola and when we listen to them back to back we can see how Lucys voice has improved, all thanks to Nicola's expert coaching.

Nicola is an excellent singing teacher who manages to be honest, direct and supportive in her approach. She is very insightful and knowledgeable about both technique and performance skills. Since starting classes with her, I feel that my vocal quality and tone have improved and my voice is becoming stronger and more expressive. I'm currently pursuing performing musical theatre professionally, and Nicola is really helping me to overcome issues and doubts that I have with my voice by trying to recapture a sense of fun and enjoyment in singing and building up my self-confidence.

Nicola helped me and my friend Georgina record the song 'You can't stop the beat' so we could dance to it at a local talent contest. Not only did she put a lot of hard work into the lessons she also took her personal time to perfect it for us. This hard work paid off as the judge Bradley Walsh and his wife made complimentry and positive comments about our disc. So much so we won 1st prize! Thank you Nicola!

Nicola helped me and my group get through X factor auditions with some amazing arrangements and harmonies! She put in so much of her own time out of lessons to help us which shows how dedicated she is. Not only did she help us as a group, but also individually working on our strengths and weaknesses. She is always positive and enthusiastic and it was truly a pleasure to learn with her. Highly recommended!

Nicola's teaching tequnique is fantastic! She helped me gain a part scholarship at a performing arts college and i have learnt alot from her in quite a short ammount of time.I would advise anyone interested in improving there singing ability to go to her, I am very thankful for all Nicola's help i feel she has helped me improve not only my singing but my teqnique as well.

Nicola is a fantastic singing teacher and after two years of lessons with her, i wouldnt go anywhere else. She has a very professional approach but is also very kind and freindly. Her arrangements are brilliant and she devotes so much time, in and out of lessons to her students. She will spend hours constructing harmonies and arrangements for you, out of lesson time, which shows her dedication to her students and her thoughtful and caring character. She gives excellent constructive critisism and great advice and is also so reliable. She is someone who loves her job and makes her students love their lessons too, which is very important.

I have been sending my children Harry and Aimee to Nicola for around a year and a half. In that time she has greatly increased their confidence and improved their technique. She even makes vocal exercises fun!

i have been having singing lessons for 10 months now ,still loving the learning and putting it in to practice ,i got asked if i would like to join a band two months ago ,said yes and we did our first gig on the 9th of sept,only had an hour of songs but what a great buzz,i recommend you all have ago.
Learning to sing has its plataues,you get to a point and you feel you are not improving and maybe you are not enjoying it as much as you did,this is fine and normal as i have found you do get through these stages if you have a good tutor to guide you ,Nicola is one of those teachers who can get you there.

I have been going to Nicola for two years and I wouldnt go to anyone else. My group went to her as we were auditioning for x factor - and we got through to boot camp! (the judges even commented on how great our arrangement and harmonies were!) Nicola really understood all of our strengths and boundaries and really helped to get the best out of us - she's great! I would definately recommend her to anyone who has a passion for singing.

Nicola is a fantastic singing teacher and I enjoy coming to her lessons every week. I get to do do voice excersises and work on songs. We sing a variety of songs from musical theatre and pop and the hour is most worthwhile. Whether you want to sing professionally or just or fun, Nicola is the person to go to and always encourages you to do your best and strive further.

Here i am again,vince,not quite a star yet but absolutely enjoying the ride,Musictek's search for a star competion was the first one that i have entered, and i got to the semi finals(220 people auditioned and i got in the top 20) so as you can imagine i am well chuffed with myself .
Now this would not have happened with out the professional tuition from Nicola and her excellent understanding of the individual, through nicola's teaching and honesty in her comments i have now ventured out of my saftey zone and tried songs that i thought were impossible for me.

I have been having lessons with Nicola for 4 years now and feel she has done an amazing job in helping me improve. I first came to Nicola not able to sing a note, however she has taught me everything I needed to know in singing, from voice exercises to strengthen certain parts of my voice, to performance and songwriting. Since attending Nicolas lessons I have been in a girlband, had the lead role in my graduation show of Fame the Musical, been asked to support Alexander O'neil and most recently been in Fame Accamedy where I had lessons from vocal coachs David and Carrie Grant, who said I must have a brilliant voice coach. Nicola is also a very helpfull person who is there to give her guidance at the drop of a hat, she has helped me with every audition I have attended by helping chose the right song (even if its helping write one), cleaning up the performance, even helping chose the right image. Another point I feel is good about Nicola's classes is that even though she teaches you all the exercise you need to know to be able to sing well, when it comes down to helping with audition preparation she doesn't do it all her self, she makes you contribute, which helps you learn better, as you are doing rather than watching, it also gives you the feeling of achievement afterwards. Nicola also helped me chose the two songs to put on my demo, taught me to sing them well, then came down to the studio to recored them with me for support and guidance, you are able to listen to the songs if you go on my web site. I really cannot reccommend Nicola highly enough as a singing teacher. For many years I had muddled by singing in pubs and clubs, but when I decided that I wanted to seriously pursue a career in performing arts, I decided that some professional coaching was in order. Thank God I did.
Firstly, Nicola puts you at ease. I have always found that classes with Nicola have been hugely enjoyable, probably due to the fact that the results have been so rewarding!!
There is no element of voice coaching that Nicola does not cover. Posture, breathing, larynx, tension to mention but a few are all covered in detail and revisited regularly if not every week. Nicola also has a wonderful knack of choosing songs to work on that are challenging but achievable, thus pushing the boundaries whilst at the same time giving huge personal satisfaction.
In my own case I am convinced that without Nicola's coaching I would never have got through the audition process. She gave me a confidence that was not there before and a voice that I was in control of. I'm now a long way down the road to fulfilling my dream of becoming a professioanal singer/actor and have just earned my first professional job. I have no doubt that Nicola played a huge part in this achievement.
Whatever your ambitions are as a singer, I would strongly reccommend that you give Nicola Bright-Thomas a call. You won't be disappointed.

I came to nicola about a year ago without any singing experience whatsoever. This was 6 weeks before my audition for Italia conti academy of theatre arts, where I would study musical theatre. I had danced and acted all my life but never had the confidence to sing, and this is what Nicola gave me. I achieved a greater understanding of how to use my voice and the lessons gave me an insight into the vocal excersises and techniques of singing. Nicola encouraged me to perform and act through song and to see the notes before i reached them. I feel Nicola really helped me with my successful audition and i am now enjoying my third term at Italia Conti.

My daughter Kate Rawlings has been taught by Nicola for 3 years now. The development of her voice has gone from relatively ordinary to fantastic over this relatively short period of time. Because of her vocal and delivery training Kate had one audition and was accepted as a full time pupil at Sylvia Young School in London. I am positive she would not have got into the school without Nicola's imput. I would strongly recommend her for her unique style and talent as a coach / teacher and for her passion and determination to develop indiivduals to the best they can possibly be. Fantastic teacher!!! You would be mad not to go there if you want to be a brilliant vocalist!!!

My daughter Lucy has been having lessons with Nicola for the past 5 months. Before going to Nicola, we thought Lucy could not get any better..... my, my how wrong we were!!!
Nicola has been working on 'Heaven - DJ Sammy' with Lucy, which she recorded this week. Lucy had recorded the same track in January prior to having lessons with Nicola, and may I say, after playing them back to back the difference in Lucys control, breathing, technique and tuning is unbelievable.
Nicola is a fantastic coach, who is 110% committed to getting the best out of her students.
On a scale of 1-10 for recommendation, Nicola would score 13!

Nicola has really helped me develope as a singer , she's so supportive and has encouraged me to sing outside of my safe zone. Since starting lessons with Nicola my confidence has really improved in such a short space of time. The lesson i really enjoy as we start with a range of vocal excercises that are fun and really effective and then we go on to work on songs. Recently i took part in a compotition and i really couldnt have done it without her, her support was fantastic and she really work hard with me 2 pefect my songs.

My daughter has been having lessons with Nicola for just over a year now. She has improved greatly, she is only 9 years old but singing on a Saturday morning is the most enjoyable thing she does all week. She loves it.Nicola has has given her so much confidence she was able to go on her first audition this year. She enjoys every aspect of the lesson, from vocal excercises to the variety of songs and lyrics Nicola has given Meg to sing.Nicola makes the lesson fun, which i believe is the reason for Megs progression, as she enjoys what she is doing and feels comfortable in Nicolas classes.Nicola i feel is a great Teacher for people of all ages.

I have been going to nicola for over a year now i feel i have progressed over that time. She gives me all different types of songs to learn. Just today i recored a song called ironic it is quite a jazzy sort of song which i enjoy very much. She is a very good teacher and she has a very good and strong voice. I enjoy going very much on a saturday morning at 10.00 - 11.00. If it wasnt for nicola i wouldnt have had the experience of seeing what it is like in an audition. I sang true colours by cyndy lauper. My mum & dad are very proud of my voice compared to when i started because of nicola. She is the best singing teacher anyone could have.

nicola is a brilliant signing teachers she has helped me with confidence as i never used to sing in front of anyone but now i don't mind so much! i now naturally have better posture from sign with nicola i can also hold my notes longer, i have a better voice than before, i have developed my range and she has helped me get out of a habbit i used to have. i have been going to nicola for about 2 and a half years and really enjoy it! i sing different types of songs and lately we have been recording and i have my own copy to keep and play to my family. nicola is definately the best singing teacher i have ever had.

Now then, where to start! singing, i love it so much, an emotion that you can express and keep to yourself or share it with a an audience.
I have been hitting the karaoke for the last year, some good-some bad, me that is. so as i sang more and grew more confident, i then expanded my song choice trying rock, blues. swing even rap are a few of the styles that i have explored.
I started to be complimented on my singing (cue big head)told i should do something with my voice other than just sing on karaoke, so after a lot of head scratching, asking people around me if they knew of a good voice coach, nicola's number was given to me.
Booking an appointment and turning up with a big smile, ready for the next hour of fun and hopefully learning how to sing.
With the door opening and and being greeted by a friendly face it was time to begin this journey.
My oh my! i was quickly bought down to earth on solid ground again, but in the best possible way, my confidence intact and realising that i had found the teacher i was searching for, feeling at ease and very comfortable in nicola's presence.
my posture, breathing, word pronunciation, closed mouth singing technic was all wrong, so starting at the begining with breathing excercises, correcting my posture and trying to sing in a language known as english (i sang with an american twang for some reason while at the same time missing off letters from key words).
Nearer the end of the lesson was time to sing a song, slighly trying to put the learnings' in to that song proved a little difficult but at the same time i realised that i was starting to learn how to sing, and with the patience that nicola showed me i knew that i would be booking me next lesson with her.
I have had 9 since that day and the best feeling is that those people who told me to do some thing with my singing have noticed an improvement in power and quality of my voice, to me that is down to the way that i have been taught and in a comfortable at ease enviroment.

Nicola is a fantastic teacher, I have been singing with her for a while now and she has helped me in picking and practicing songs for auditions and learning new songs for fun. Also since singing with her there has been a vast improvement in my singing ability but also my presentation and emotion whilst singing. The lessons are exciting and I learn something new every week from technical 'things' in my mouth and throat to voice exercises to strange habitats I was unaware of. She has an amazing voice and is a lovely person!

I first heard about Nicola through a friend who had classes and spoke very highly of her. As im on a musical theatre course i knew these classes would benefit me so spoke to Nicola and booked a lesson. Ive never really been confident with my singing but from the first lesson i felt very relaxed in Nicola's company. She is such a positive teacher that makes you believe in yourself. The first time i had to sing infront of my whole year at college i couldn't have done it without Nicola. In only a few lessons i improved loads but more importantly Nicola gave me the confidence! In every lesson we work on technique as well as sing songs. I would definately recommend her to anyone!

I have been a student of Nicola's for a year and a half now and feel that in addition to improving my vocal technique, Nicola has greatly increased my confidence as a singer. Whilst with Nicola I have explored various styles of song and worked with material I would not have had the confidence to do before. Nicola has shown me how there is so much more to being a singer than having good technique. Just as important is the need to perform to your audience and because of this I now get so much more out of my singing. Nicola has recently helped me audition successfully for an Institute of Arts where I will be studying Musical Theatre. She helped me to choose the right song and perform to my maximum potential. Having much enthusiasm for singing which she shows through her teaching, Nicola coaches specifically to develop each person individually focusing both on weaknesses whilst further developing strengths.

I have been singing with Nicola for about 4, 5 months. She is a brilliant teacher who is enthusiastic about singing and also about teaching me and her other students. My singing has defitely improved since I have been singing with Nicola and I thank her 100% as singing is a thing i love. Nicola has improved my confidence and helped to make my voice stronger with more techniques. I absolutely love going to classes as I learn a new thing every week and have a brilliant time as well. Nicola is a very hardworking enthusiatic teacher who gets stuck in with her pupils to help them achieve their dreams and become a technical and well trained singer.As well as learning about things like breathing which is very important with singing and how your sound is produced, you also get to work on your favourite songs with Nicola's wide range of backing tracks. Nicola also helps out with any singing competions or auditions you may go for, helping you pick the right song and how to perform them. The best thing is you are learning while you are having fun!

well!what can i say,went for audition on saturday,my first one ever, Nicola helped me choose a song, went through it with me several times correcting me on the problem areas. I was one of Nichola's first ever students! I approached her as she was recommended by a professional performer that I know. What I feel Nichola is best at is pushing her students she understands what you are capable of and you end up surprising yourself with the results.
I've always enjoyed writing my own songs and Nichola really helped me lyrically and performance wise, since I have had Nichola as a vocal coach I've gone on to have one of my tracks picked up by Universal and put on a compilation album, I've also been signed by an independent record label and even started up my own! I now earn more money singing then I do in my part time office job! I really beleive that had I not had Nichola to help me and make me do my scales I would never be in this career.
Nichola has a wonderful ability to help you find YOUR STYLE, which one of the most important things because no one can take that away. She is not your standard musical singing teacher, she is a vocal coach which for an up and coming singer is the most valuable thing you learn.
