Review:
I have been coached by Nicola for a couple of years now. I’ve written some key points which I hope potential students find useful.
* Very focused coaching – You really work hard in your lesson
* Reliable – Lessons start and finish on time
* Care & understanding – Nicola does seem to relate to her students. She undoubtedly cares about them and understands their needs and motivations and uses this knowledge to improve their ability. Above all she is very honest.
* Vocal exercises – Nicola manages to find some that are fun and others which seem impossible, but after a few weeks you crack them. However, I will never personally do the really wicked tongue twisters she finds.
* Good explanations – It’s can be difficult understand the singing techniques but Nicola explains them well.
* Patient – Has to be with me!
* Progression – She will ensure you are always pushed to achieve better with out going too far which could de-motivate.
* Singing styles – Not someone who would teach opera, but she is able to teach many other styles from pop to jazz to blues and musical theatre.
* No music – This I have found the most difficult. From classical piano training I always want to see the notes. But it’s not a battle I won, so I have to memorise and carefully listen. The outcome is that I am able to stamp my own style on the song and it has improved my musical ability all round too.
* Memory – She never seems to forget anything. So don’t think you will ‘get away’ with much or pull the wool over her eyes.
Lastly, Nicola is a nice person. She is passionate about music and singing and she passes that passion on to her students. I enjoy and look forward to my lessons and I am happy to strongly recommend her. If you get the chance to download any of her music do so as she has a most magical voice.

Nicola has been teaching my daughter Luciee (14)for 4 and a half years. Luciee has massively improved in her vocals, control and performance and its all down to Nicola's perfect teaching abilities and her beliefs in her students. Nicola is the only person Luciee seeks approval from in her performance's, that alone speaks for itself. Not only is Nicola a fantastic vocal coach, she has also become a good friend. I have been singing with Nicola for about 5 years now, and the difference I feel within my singing and confidence is massive. I now feel so much more confident within my voice and I can really notice the improvement. Nicola is a brilliant, enthusiastic teacher that encourages you to do your best and subsequently improve. The lessons are fun and enjoyable, taking in a variety of warm-ups and a mix of different genres of songs. I also completed my music GCSE this year, and I was able to record my coursework with Nicola, who was a huge help and support, and so the A I received is definitely partly to her, which I am entirely grateful for. I thoroughly enjoy the lessons and they have definitely helped me keep my passion for music and singing. I look forward to continuing to singing with Nicola, and improving thanks to her constant support and guidance.

Review:
Nicola has been my vocal coach for a little over a year now and in that time she has amazed me with the depth of her abilities.
In a recent lesson, I sang, very tentatively, a song to her that I particularly wanted to perform and not only did she pick up the tune immediately, but she had me singing it with confidence and in a way that suited my vocal range.
I cant thank her enough for helping me to move away from the rigid style of singing that I am used to, and introducing me to the more relaxed, casual and contemporary music that I am now enjoying.
Long may she reign!

nicola has been teaching me for abot 3 years now and thank to her i can actually find and hit a tune. i am a student at R.A.W and wanted to be an actor and would have love to be a singer only i couldnt sing. now tho i have full confidence in my voice and it is all down to nicola. she is a patient, understanding and very fun teacher and always look forward to singing as you always learn a lttle bit more each week

I have worked with Nicola for about 3 years now during my music gcse and a level. She uses a large range of styles and has always managed to find artists and songs that suit my voice. Shes always really enthusiastic and appreciative of the needs of students studying music academically. Her technique of recording material is very useful to track progress and has solved a lot of my mums birthday and christmas presents!
Although I have gone to university, I can always rely on nicola if I want an odd lesson or two. Her variety of work from expression to technique is really fun and rewarding and my voice has significantly improved with her help. :) xxx

My daughter Bobbie, started singing with Nicola 2years ago. She always had a very good singing voice from an early age and so I took her to a lady in rainham, essex for a while, but Bobbie was getting nowhere with her and so I stopped the lessons. She also wasnt enjoying going to her. Fortunately for us, my cousins daughter was going to Nicola for lessons and so I took Bobbie to see Nicola.
Since bobbie has been to Nicola she has come on so well we are all delighted. She had her first competition in May 2008 and she did very well coming in 2nd place. Then in August 2008 she had her 2nd competition which she won won first prize. She got to record a cd in a studio and she really enjoyed it and her confidence was improving.
In March this year 2009 she entered another competiton and she came first again. She totally blew us away with her performance, she used the stage really well, which she had never done before (she had always just stood there.)
This is all thanks to Nicola. She has been working on Bobbies stage presence for a while and it has paid off big time.
Nicola has helped Bobbie so much with her singing and her confidence and i dont think bobbie would have done so well without nicola. She was quite shy when she first went to Nicola, but now she is very comfortable with her.
Nicola has given her so much encouragement and we thank her very much for all she has done and continues to do.

Review:
I first met Nicola September 2007, and I would mention that I’m not your average student taking up performing arts, singing etc. I have never sung a note before, not even in the bath and at 50 why start now. Well I approached Nicola with the idea I would like to sing to my then future husband on our wedding day 30th August 2008. From the very first meeting with Nicola, she put me straight at ease and made me feel that this wasn’t one of my craziest ideas and this was possible.
I started classes with Nicola, we recorded the track in the first class, the second week I listened to it and I thought I must be made, but Nicola told me my dream was achievable with hard work and commitment from me, but that’s only half of it because she also works hard and gives you 100% and more.
Within weeks of going to Nicola I really begun to believe in myself, I looked forward to my classes, each week Nicola set me different challenges and each week when I left her I felt a great sense of achieve.
Over the months we recorded my track and each time I could hear the improvement not only was I learning to sing, my confidence was growing.
With the big day fast approaching we finally recorded the final version, in less than a year Nicola had transformed my voice, she had made my dream possible.
On our wedding day I sung live to my husband and our guest and I enjoyed every moment, our guest gave me a standing ovation, my husband was blown away and so very proud.
I can’t begin to thank Nicola enough for what she has taught me, she is not just a great teacher, she is also a very remarkable, talented and lovely person. Nothing is too much for her, her classes are well planned, but also full of fun. I learnt a lot from Nicola, she taught me to sing, she improved my diction, gave me bags of confidence and truck loads of self belief, if she can do that for someone my age imagine what she could do for you. I sing every day now and that’s thanks to Nicola.

Review:
I first went to Nicola in 2007 after i had completed a btec in performing arts. I was taking a year out and really wanted to concentrate on my singing to help me gain further education into a drama school and went to her being recommended by a friend. When i found out that the lessons were going to be in her house i was a bit apprehensive, but as soon as i walked in the welcome she gave me was fantastic and her family were all really friendly which really helped me to feel at ease and settle in very quickly. This was a massive plus point as i think the environment you work in is a major factor in your development and Nicola obviously wants you to feel at home in her home.
Nicola really made a difference in my singing. when i first sang her a song i was hitting wrong notes here there and everywhere and not putting any emotion behind it at all. but after 8 months, that had all changed and i was amazed at the difference. Nicola made me record a song with her equipment within the first couple of weeks i was going to her. This was really helpful because after the 8 months i re-recorded the song and listened back to the original track and was stunned at the difference in my voice. Thats whats great about Nicola is that she puts not only the commitment in the lesson she also takes time out of her busy schedule to look for lyrics and songs that suit you and download your recoreded tracks onto discs for you.
Nicola was influencial in my drama school procedure. she helped me find songs then helped me to perfect them and she taught me how to sing them in a way that the panel would appreciate. her guidance and teaching was so amazing that i was offered a place at LAMDA.
Although i dont go to Nicola regularlyanymore i always squeeze a lesson in whenever i am back.
It is safe to say Nicola is one of the best out there.

well i added a review syumtime last year and i thought it was time for an update. Nicola is such a talented singer and all round performer and she has helped me develop my voice so much, when i first came to nicola singing high was completely out of my range but by training my voice and giving me excercises my head voice (high) has come along soo much , just the other day some told me how beautiful my head voice was and i was shocked. To tell you the truth i couldnt have done it without her, she has supported me so much and has never let me down !!!
soo if your looking for a singing teacher theres only one to pick and thats Nicola , you wont be dissappointed !!!!!
