The Heather Kent Vocal Studio delivers top-quality vocal instruction to singers of all levels, ages and musical styles. Lessons are tailored to the specific needs of each individual – so clients achieve faster and more dramatic desired results including improved tone, resonance and placement, posture, breathing, support and relaxation.
Clients are empowered to reach their full potential in a positive and supportive environment, through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the vocal process. A modern approach to singing is employed, involving techniques that can be applied to all styles of music. These techniques are fundamental in building strong, healthy voices, throughout the entire range.
Heather has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Auckland, and her ATCL in singing teaching from the Trinity College of London. She has worked both as vocal coach and musical director for various musical theatre companies in New Zealand and the US, including productions of Evita, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Annie, Grease, and Pippin.
Heather has over 15 years experience teaching singing in New Zealand, London, The Netherlands and the US. Her students have gone on to win places in regional singing competitions, gain leading roles and take part in professional opera and amateur musical productions, perform in concerts, join choirs and enjoy many personal vocal successes.
