Cathar Chorale Holiday
Singing holidays in the beautiful area of Languedoc Roussillon in a holiday gite in Couiza, South France.
Evening meals will be provided and the holiday accommodation also has good self-catering facilities.
We will rehearse each day in the mornings, leaving the afternoons free to explore, canoe on the river, visit the local castles (of which there are many!) or just relax.
There will be a reprise of the mornings work early evening, followed by aperitifs and dinner. At the end of the week we shall give a concert in a local church. The repertoire will consist of a selection of English, Italian, or French madrigals and other arrangements of choral works for SATB, (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass). The group will consist of 10 – 12 singers, with 2-3 singers to each part. It will be necessary to have at least some basic sight-reading skills (due to the short rehearsal time available!), and, if necessary, to do some homework, so that we perform to a high standard. Music will be available in advance of the holiday if required.
We will also offer a guided walk on one of the days.
3 holiday apartments are available to let in the gite, each has its own kitchen, bathroom, dining area and computer corner with a modern computer with free broadband internet access.
